Updates
Prayer and Fasting Day
Due to the bank holiday, our next prayer and fasting day will be Monday 12th May. We will be gathering to pray together from 1pm at our new office at Oakwood Church.
Please come and join us as we contend for the Youth in our town.
Mr & Mrs Mew
For those of you who are new to our Newsletter, Chloe, Our Chaplain at Court Field School got married over the Easter break. Chloe and Jordan kindly invited the young people from our Outreach work and several of them attended the wedding with us. This was a wonderful opportunity to expose the young people to church, godly marriage and the importance of the vows that they made. We had some wonderful conversations with the young people the week that followed.

Weekly prayer covering
Please pray for and during our various activities during the week.
Monday - Safe space/Home work drop in session - 4pm - 5:30pm
Tuesday - Priorswood/Lyngford Outreach 6pm
Wednesday - Pyrland School - 1pm - 4pm, Bible study one - 5pm - 6:30pm, Bible study two - 6:30pm - 8pm
Thursday - Asylum seeker Outreach - 4pm - 5:30pm, Hammy Park Outreach - 6pm - 8:30pm
Monday - Friday - Chaplaincy at Court Fields School & community mentoring
Individual Prayer
Unusual request, but please pray for 'Child T', a young person we’re working with who carries deep, complex trauma. Their behaviour is often highly disruptive and can change the atmosphere of a session in seconds, making it hard for others to engage. But beneath the chaos is a natural leader — someone with real influence and potential. We are believing for a complete transformation in Jesus’ name. Pray for breakthrough, healing, and salvation — that they would encounter the love of God and rise up as a leader for good in their generation.
Chaplaincy at Court Field
Please continue to pray for Chloe and the work she is doing at Court Field School. We are now working towards establishing an Outreach session in Wellington.
Pyrland School
Please continue to pray for Pyrland School. Following a difficult Ofsted report, the staff and leadership are moving forward with courage and determination. We thank God for the changes already being implemented and pray for wisdom, unity, and renewed strength for the team. May this be a season of restoration, growth, and hope for the entire school community.
Bible Studies
Please pray for our Bible study groups that meet each Wednesday. It’s a real privilege to walk alongside these young people as they encounter God’s Word. Pray that their hearts would remain open, and that the truth they’re discovering would take deep root. We’re believing for a generation that stands firm on the Word of God — bold enough to lead others into truth and hope.
One of these sessions we run, is specifically for Christian teenage girls, every Wednesday from 5:30pm–7pm. If you know someone who might be interested in joining, please email Kelly for more details. All are welcome.
Youth violence
Please join us in praying against the rise of youth violence in Taunton. We’re asking God to bring peace where there is conflict, hope where there is despair, and restoration where there has been harm. Pray for protection over our young people, wisdom for those working on the front lines, and for a move of God that transforms hearts, homes, and communities. We believe change is possible, and we're contending for it in prayer.
Asylum Seekers
Please pray for the asylum-seeking young people and families we have the privilege of working with. Many carry deep trauma from their past and face daily uncertainty about what lies ahead. We are praying not only for healing, peace, and stability — but for their salvation in the powerful name of Jesus. May they encounter His love, hope, and presence through every conversation, every act of kindness, and every relationship. We boldly claim their lives for the Kingdom and trust God to be their refuge, restorer, and redeemer.
Team
Please pray for wisdom as we seek to grow our team of staff and volunteers. We’re deeply aware of the unique nature of the work we do at Taunton Youth for Christ, and finding the right people — those with both the heart and the skill to carry this vision — is not always easy. Pray that God would lead the right individuals to us in His perfect timing.
