Messages from Bosco and Heidi December 2025
*From the Bukeeras*
Greetings from Uganda!
It’s been a while since our last update and much has happened… but for now, we’d love you to be praying for our Holiday Bible Cub!
The theme of the HBC is The Adventure of Christmas, and it will be taking place from Monday 8th December. The first three days are for primary aged children, and the final two days are for teenagers. Our HBCs for children last all day, and we provide them with both breakfast and lunch!
Please pray…
- for Mubanda as he is doing most of the organisation for the HBC.
- for the children/teens that they may grasp that God came to earth in order to be the long awaited Saviour
- for the volunteer leaders, and particularly for their ‘small group’ times with the children when they discuss scripture
- for the cooks, who work tirelessly to provide delicious meals for 300+ children plus all the leaders!
- for safety, fun, the weather (not too hot, and not raining!), worthwhile conversations and for young people to grasp the truth of the gospel
We run HBCs twice a year, and we would love you to be a part of this ministry! Here are three ways to get involved…
1. Pray!
2. Sponsor a child to attend the HBC! A mere £5 will cover the cost of one child attending camp. This will cover the cost of their meals, and will also help with the purchase of other materials and resources that we need. If you would like to sponsor a child to attend the HBC, ping us a message and we can tell you how😊
3. Come and volunteer! There are many jobs to be done during the week, and we would love your help! We need small group leaders, musicians, quiz masters, storytellers, cook helpers and servers, tidy uppers, Bible verse teachers… we can utilise whatever gifts the Lord has blessed you with! Our next HBC will most likely be in May 2026. Get in touch if you would like to come and be part of our team🤩
Please pray for Boaz, one of our church members, who is currently in hospital having had surgery yesterday. He is going back to theatre tomorrow. He is in significant pain. Pray that the surgeon may have wisdom, and pray for Boaz’s recovery. Pray too for his wife Christabel, as she supports her husband in hospital. Unlike the UK, hospitals do not provide food, so Christabel has to take meals for her husband. Sometimes you also have to provide your own medication! From tomorrow we will be looking after their children, who will stay with us for as long as is needed. Pray that Nathan (age 5) and Ashley (age 1) will quickly settle into our family!
Please pray too for our family, as we continue to juggle ministry in our home and all that that entails. Praise God that Heidi has recovered from a recent bout of pneumonia. Pray that we may soon get a birth certificate for Zephaniah (such things can take a while when you refuse to pay bribes). Praise God for good homeschool rhythms right now, despite multiple distractions in our busy home! Pray for Bosco who is preaching from Galatians 3:15-29 tomorrow, particularly as he is not feeling so well this evening. Pray that we may be able to book somewhere suitable to have a break for a few days. This is unlikely to be until next year, but we need a rest!
Thank you for your continued prayers and support, which help to sustain us in this church planting ministry.
With much love,
Bosco and Heidi
