Messages from Bosco and Heidi February 2026

Greetings from Uganda!

Half the population of Uganda are 15 years old or under. There are children everywhere!! Many, many children have suffered abuse of some sort (physical, sexual, emotional and neglect), and many children are parented by fellow children. Most of our Sunday school children come to church without their parents, and it’s not uncommon for a five year old to come with their two year old sibling having been sent to church.
This evening and tomorrow morning we have a much needed seminar on biblical parenting at Ssenge Baptist Church. Many Ugandans parent their children by beating them into submission, and there is a lack of understanding of how to discipline children in a way that involves leading them to Christ.
Please pray for…
- Margee Boswell (the visiting mother of one of our missionaries at SBC) as she leads these seminars. She is very experienced in delivering these seminars, but this is a very different context to what she is used to!
- ⁠Our church parents, that they may grasp how to parent their children in a godly manner, and that they may look to scripture (not culture) for wisdom on how to parent their children.
- ⁠Our team of cooks, who are preparing an evening meal for tonight, plus breakfast and lunch for tomorrow. We never know how many people will attend, but are guessing that there may be around 150 on Saturday morning.
- ⁠Our church children, that they may be parented in a way that points them to their Saviour.

Pray too for our family, that we may teach and train our children in the ways of the Lord, and that we may always be demonstrating the love of Christ to them. We need much patience and wisdom in our parenting! Pray too that as people observe our family, they may not conclude that we are parenting in a ‘western’ way, but that we are seeking to parent in a biblical manner!
