Greetings from Uganda!
Greetings from Uganda!
This week we are hosting an ‘Equipping Pastors Worldwide - Step Two’ conference. The EPW conferences aim to equip pastors and church workers to handle God’s word. We’ve had about 30 delegates each day so far. Bosco will be teaching The Pastors Life tomorrow. Emmanuel Magambo is teaching God’s Big Story. Jimmy is teaching how to prepare expository sermons from A New Testament Epistle; Philippians.
Pray that those who attend may leave better equipped to faithfully teach from God’s Word in their various churches. Pray for Bosco, Emma and Jimmy as they lead the sessions. Praise God for the provision of our church kitchen which is proving to be so valuable to ministry here - especially when it rains heavily like it did this morning! All those at the conference are provided with both breakfast and (a huge!) lunch😊
Next week we have our Holiday Bible Clubs for primary school aged children (Mon-Wed) and youth (Thurs-Fri). We will be looking at the story of Jonah: rebellion, repentance, resentment. There is much to pray for, but ultimately our biggest prayer is that the children/youth who come may be challenged by the truth of the gospel, and that they may turn in true repentance from their rebellion… without resentment!
Please pray too for our little Zebulun (age 3). This afternoon he was admitted in hospital with bronchopneumonia. He is in overnight, and is currently on oxygen. Please pray that he may stabilise, and that he may be discharged very soon. Bosco is staying with him in the hospital tonight, then he will swap with Heidi in the morning so that he can teach on the EPW conference. Praise God that Heidi’s mum is still here to help with the other children… but she is due to fly back to the UK on Thursday!
Our lives often seem so chaotic, messy and unpredictable. Please pray that the Lord may both sustain us, and use us for His glory in this busy and challenging season. Sometimes we long for calmness and routine, but such seems out of reach for now!
Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
With much love,
Bosco and Heidi
